FESTIVALS OF PARACUELLOS DE JARAMA

Virgen de la Ribera

CRISTO DE LA SALUD, VIRGEN DE LA RIBERA AND SAN NICOLÁS DE BARI FESTIVALS

The patron saint festivals take place between May and June depending on the year. During the celebration week there are multiple activities to cheer everyone up. One of the most outstanding elements of these festivals is the music, with the performance orchestras such as that of Escuela Municipal de Música, and music festivals such as Paracuellos Rock Festival, Paracuellos Pop, etc.

Other activities are the opening and closing ceremony, giant paellas eating, parades, fireworks, etc. The "peñas" (association or clubs of neighbours) play an important role in providing food, as well as bullfighting runnings and contests, not forgetting popular games for children, the handcrafts fair, the amusement park, etc.

Regarding religious events, there are three days in a row of processions to honour Cristo de la Salud, Virgen de la Ribera and San Nicolás de Bari.
