TORRIJAS

Torrijas

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 litre milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 3/4 kg flour
  • 1/4 kg sugar
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 1 small cup of rum
  • aniseed
  • olive oil
  • water

INDICATIONS

First we beat the eggs and we add the flour and sugar to them, then the milk and later the water. All these ingredients need to be added slowly while stirring and mixing everything very well until we have a thick mixture. Once we have this mixture, we add the rum, the lemon zest, some aniseed and the olive oil and everything is stirred together. Now we turn on the stove and with a frying pan with olive oil and the help of a big spoon we pour and fry little by little the mixture to make some kind of pancakes, the so-called torrijas. Once the torrijas are done and chilled, we sprinkle some sugar on them, and they are ready to be served.
