FIESTAS OF PILAR DE LA HORADADA
PARADE OF FLOATS
It was declared as a festival of Local Tourist Interest on 16th May 2011 by the Regional Ministry of Tourism due to its great deal of tourist influx.
The parade of floats of Pilar de la Horadada began about 57 years ago, in 1957, when two floats were brought out onto the streets on the last day of local fiestas representing a swan surrounded by daisies and other flower decorations, and a model of the church tower and “the fountain of the church”.
The genuine players of this celebration are the folklore groups (“peñas”), whose members elaborate original and creative floats and costumes about current affairs and parade on the streets of the town during the last day of the local fiestas.
