The Weather in Valencia

The weather in Valencia is typically Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters. The annual average temperature is 18ºC, which indicates that the city does not experience extreme temperatures, being an ideal destination any time of the year.

The rainfall is very low, and it is more common in the autumn. Occasionally there may be torrential rainfall, such as a famous one occurred in October 1957, when River Turia overflowed and flooded the city.

The fact that the city is by the sea makes Valencia conditioned by the sea breezes blowing into the city around 150 days a year, being an important factor especially during the summer months. The temperature-regulating winds keep the city around 30ºC during the summer.

Valencia’s weather clearly offers more than 300 sunny days a year, making it one of the top destinations in Spain.
